Urrgh. I'm here right now because I can't figure out this case I have to do for class...annoying little bugger, this case is... Baah.
Anyway, I've decided that I should listen to more classical music. "More" here pretty much signifies any level of listening above "none", which is the amount of classical I currently listen to. See, the way I figure it is, 1) I play[ed] the piano for a long time and in that time, hopefully I've gained an appreciation for classical music, and 2) I seem to quite enjoy soundtrack scores, and really, that's just "classical" music with a context. Well, and possibly with a bit of updating here and there. Anyway, I just figure that, if I actually give the music a chance, it might not really be as dull or boring as one might think it would be, and I think I might even enjoy it. And if not...well, it doesn't hurt to try, right?
So, any suggestions on where to start?
Questions:
1. so you've what, decided to minimalize your posting?? c'mon girl...let's see some blogging action...and yes I know how hypocritical this is...:)
Sorry, sorry...been a bit busy lately...in fact, I think if I were to actually start trying to do all the readings I'm supposed to have done already, I wouldn't ever catch up to where I should be right now....right now, my main worries are this damned case and the group assignment I have, both for the same lovely course (you know which one it is, Suz...the one with the most boring-sounding name possible... :P). Hrumph. Also, there isn't much going on right now that's worth blogging about (hm. interesting to use 'blog' as a verb. Blog you! Yeah? Blog you too!) because, quite frankly, who wants to write (or read, for that matter) about the daily trials and tribulations of attending university, really? Then again, if I run out of other things to say....I'll just bore you all with school details. Kind of like what I'm doing right now. Hehe.
2. What makes a song "stick-in-your-head"able?
Hmm. Good question. Um...a catchy tune or chorus? A memorable line of lyrics? Multiple listening repetitions? Someone like Tori Amos who uses some sort of witchcraft to make her songs stick in your head? Something that's easy to remember? Or, in the case of soundtrack scores or songs, hearing the song played while you're seeing a memorable image or scene? Any or all of those factors, I would think, would contribute to a song's "stick factor". :)
